Hi all, this is a very brief post!
So over the summer I decided that I wanted to be more involved in student life and so I decided that at the beginning of my second year I would join both the student newspaper/magazine as well as the ACS (African Caribbean Society) as I am an inherent commitment phobe I am actually quite surprised to say that 6 weeks later I have not only joined both groups but also attended events with them both AND written a feature for the magazine.
At the time of joining CUB magazine I had an idea to write something on friendship, an issue that all of us (hopefully) can relate to! So I immediately wrote up a draft and sent it to the features editors who said that they liked my article but just wanted to tweak it slightly.
They then said that it would be posted in a few weeks time. Since that day I have been checking CUB’s site religiously for my feature and I was delighted when I finally saw that they had posted my work over the weekend. I was just so happy that they were confident enough in my idea to post it online for anyone to read. It is also very exciting that they have now associated their brand with me as an amateur writer!
Here’s a link to my first ever official feature:http://cubmagazine.co.uk/2014/10/the-end-of-the-best-friend/
Please leave comments, I’m dying to know what you all think about it!
